Our capsules are hermetically sealed for optimal conservation of coffee aromas and to prevent coffee oxidation. There are two dates indicated on each sleeve: the production date and the best before date. We can ensure the coffee shelf life up to 12 months after the date of production. 

Decaffeination is an additional step before roasting and grinding. In general there are various decaffeination processes. Some of them use chemical solvents and others use natural ingredients: water or carbon dioxide, a natural constituent of air. We at Nespresso use only those with natural ingredients:

• In the water decaffeination process, the raw coffee beans are moistened to make the bean texture porous. After that by circulating the moisture through the porous beans, the water removes the caffeine and some other water-soluble solids. The extract is then removed and filtered via active carbon where caffeine is separated from the other valuable coffee solids, which are then returned to the beans. The purified water will be re-used for subsequent decaffeination processes. The decaffeinated coffee is then dried after which the beans are ready for roasting.

• In the carbon dioxide method, the raw coffee beans are moistened and put into a vessel where it is pressurized with liquid carbon dioxide. Circulating through the coffee, the carbon dioxide selectively draws the caffeine out of the bean. The decaffeinated coffee is then dried after which the beans are ready for roasting

Both decaffeination methods use only natural ingredients for decaffeination and are completely safe for coffee drinkers. The processes respect the environment and the coffee bean’s true nature, allowing us to maintain the strength, variety and richness of its aromas for our consumers.

• If yes, simply enter your membership number and postal code in the last two fields and click on "Continue". You can then place your order.

Should you wish to place an order and have it delivered to another country, you will need to create a new account in the Nespresso website, of the country you currently in. Please note that an Email address can only be used for one market at a time. To use the same email address on a new account, you will need to contact the local Nespresso market on which your email address is currently being used and have them remove it from their database.

The Easy Order service allows all Nespresso members to schedule their orders with a frequency of their choice and the orders are automatically executed.

There is no cost for creating, modifying or cancelling your Easy Order. Free delivery applies for all recurring orders. You will be notified three days prior to the shipment of your following Easy Order via email. If you wish to modify the delivery address, selected items, their quantities as well as the delivery and payment information after receiving our email, you can still make changes until the day before the shipment at midnight (ex: 11:59PM on January 3 for an order shipping on January 4)

There are no delivery fees for your Easy Order. For packaging reasons all orders executed via Nespresso Web Site, Nespresso App or by the phone should have the minimum of 50 capsules.

The Easy Order service features the entire range of Nespresso coffee, Vertuo or Original Line as well as white or brown sugar. To order accessories or machines we suggest you choose a standard order.

All Nespresso Members can benefit from the promotions for which they are eligible. Please note however that not all promotional items, available for a limited time, are available for ordering via the Easy Order service. For the Limited Edition products, we recommend placing a separate order. If you are overstocked on your Nespresso coffee, you may choose to extend your next shipment date.

The minimum order volume is the same as a regular order, being 50 capsules. Free delivery is available for any recurrent order

You may refuse to collect your Easy Order upon delivery. If you paid for the order via PayPal or Credit Card, the amount will be returned to you. Alternatively, you may contact us so that we may proceed with the cancelation before the delivery.

Our Assistance Service Team is available Monday to Saturday, from 8 am to 10 pm. We provide troubleshooting for all Nespresso machines, using our in-depth knowledge of the technology to diagnose the problem and assist you in finding the best solution.

If a repair is required, we offer the following benefits to our Nespresso members:

• Collection of your machine from your preferred address, without delivery charge.
• A loan machine for the duration of the repair.
• Full repair of your machine and a checking of all its components. This service is free if the machine is under warranty (following the warranty terms and conditions of the manufacturer). Outside the warranty period, our Team will inform you about our current flat fees.
• Return of your repaired machine to your preferred address, without delivery charge.
• A 6-month repair warranty extension covering any work carried out of warranty.

Firstly, please place the whisk inside and fill with fresh water until the first indication of "max". Then, switch to warm mode. After the stirring, clean with a soft damp cloth after each use to remove all traces of milk, and prevent it from burning.

In order to descale your machine, you should purchase the Nespresso descaling kit. This descaling kit is compatible with all Nespresso machines and contains two separate descaling liquids. We recommend one descaling every 600 capsules or once every six months.

The descaling agent gently eliminates the limescale that builds up in your machine over time to ensure that your tasting experience is as perfect as the first machine use. The warranty of your machine lasts for a period of two years from the date of purchase and the invoice (or a copy of the invoice) is needed, in order to cover any technical issues.

During this period, Nespresso will either repair or replace, at it's discretion, any defective product at no charge to the owner.

 This limited warranty does not apply to any defect resulting from negligence, accident, misuse, or other reason beyond Nespresso’s reasonable control, included but not limited to :normal wear and tear, failure to follow the product instructions, improper or inadequate maintenance, calcium deposits or descaling, connection to improper power supply, unauthorized product modification or repair, fire, lightning, flood, input of dust/fluid/insects or other external causes.

• By giving the bag with the capsules for recycling to the courier, who will deliver your order, with the new service "Recycling at home". A specially designed capsule recycling machine separates the coffee from the aluminum, which is then recycled with environmentally friendly technology, for the production of other products. We use aluminum as packaging material for our capsules because it protects the approximately 900 aromas contained in a Nespresso Capsule. Aluminum can be recycled forever without losing its properties whereas coffee is used as agricultural fertilizer. Nespresso covers the cost of this entire trip to and from recycling points and provides the proceeds of the process on a non-profit basis.

There are two reasons: (1) we must use some virgin aluminium to fine-tune the alloy; and (2) the membrane is still made from virgin aluminium. But of course, we’re working towards increasing the percentage of recycled aluminium that we use.

Switching to recycled aluminium represents a big change in our production. It therefore takes some time to switch all our production lines. This is being done as a rolling change, and the new capsules will be introduced across the full Original & Vertuo range in the coming 2 years. Original Line Master Origin Colombia is our first coffee capsule using recycled aluminium and by the end of 2021, we aim to have the full Original Line and Vertuo ranges of coffee capsules made using recycled aluminium.

Aluminium that is recycled, (including our capsules), is collectively reprocessed and endlessly reformed. Most of the capsules that are recycled are returned into the general aluminium stream, to become new aluminium products, from cans to car or airplane parts. Some of the capsules that are returned to us by consumers in countries close to Germany (France, Be-Ne-Lux and Switzerland) are re-melted and reformed to become new capsules. We focus on countries which are close to Germany as most of the aluminium re-smelters are located there, and it doesn’t make sense environmentally to bring back capsules from countries further away.

The recycled aluminium comes from a variety of sources, including post-consumer scrap as well as scrap recovered during the production process.

No, the extraction, and thus the taste of your coffee, will not change.

We use aluminium because it optimally protects the freshness, taste and quality of Nespresso coffee. That way, we can ensure that the aromas developed during the roasting process are retained until the coffee reaches your cup. We also use aluminium for the capsules to ensure optimal functionality in Nespresso machines. Aluminium also has the added benefit of being infinitely recyclable.

It means that 80% of the aluminium we use for the complete capsule (the capsule itself, plus the foil membrane) is recycled aluminium. The membrane has a different functional requirement than the main capsule body, and for now we will continue to use virgin aluminium to ensure it functions effectively. The capsule body alone, excluding the foil membrane, consists of at least 90% recycled aluminium.

A precision consumption system like Nespresso uses a precise amount of water, coffee ground and energy to make one cup - minimising food, water and energy waste. With other methods of coffee preparation, consumers tend to use more coffee than required and keep it warm for too long - then throw out left-over coffee, which represents a lot of waste.

Although it seems counterintuitive, the precise consumption of portioned coffee means that it has a similar environmental impact to filter coffee and mocha, and better than bean-to-cup machines. The footprint of portioned coffee is lower if the capsules are recycled, which is why Nespresso has worked relentlessly since 1991 to increase the volume of used capsules that are recycled.

However, we are constantly innovating and finding new ways to further reduce our impact on the environment. We currently use aluminium as it optimally protects the freshness, taste and quality of Nespresso coffee. That way, we can ensure that the aromas developed during the roasting are retained until the coffee reaches your cup, without the use of overwrapping/pouches. Aluminium also has the added benefit of being infinitely recyclable, which is why we place so much focus on making our global recycling scheme easy to use.

Most of the components and materials of our coffee machines are recyclable. The only parts which are not recyclable are the electronic circuit board and some plastic parts with glass fibres (the brewing unit). Consumers can recycle their machines through the “recycling scheme”, where appliances are sorted by material.
