As far as Creations coffees are concerned, they are 100% allergen-free and are enriched with natural flavors, without added sugar or preservatives.

Intense coffees, besides having a higher roasting comparing to the mild ones, have also a thinner gringing, resulting in a longest extraction time - the water has a bigger resistance while crossing the ground coffee.

Aluminum is a naturally-occurring metal and is infinitely recyclable. Thanks to the aluminum, there is no need for additional over-packaging to protect freshness and taste. In addition, recycled aluminum is extremely versatile.

When separated from aluminum, coffee grounds can be reused in ever more innovative ways. Nowadays, in Portugal, we can find it in fertilizer compounds used to fertilize agricultural fields, such as those in Santa Margarida do Sado, where we produce the rice that we donate to the Food Bank, through the Reciclar é Alimentar project.
As for used aluminum, it is transformed into new aluminum and can be used in new objects such as pens, bicycles, Swiss army knives, etc.

We use a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) approach to measure the environmental impact of our products. It shows that the greatest impacts are the processes of coffee farming, followed by the machine-use phase. Packaging is not the main driver of the environmental impact, it only comes third.
With the Nespresso precision consumption system, our customers only use the exact amount of water, coffee and energy needed to make one cup with no wasted resources - minimizing water and energy waste. The precise use of resources in a precision consumption system can actually reduce waste, and in many scenarios this more than compensates for the additional packaging used for portioned coffee.
