Why did Nespresso choose aluminum for capsule packaging?

We use aluminum as packaging, because it is the best material to protect and seal the delicate flavors in coffee against oxygen and sunlight, which can degrade the taste and quality.

The hermetically sealed aluminum capsule keeps the up to 900 aromas fresh for minimum 12 months. In addition, aluminum is infinitely recyclable and can be returned for recycling in all Nespresso Boutiques and selected trade partners.
